The Community Prayer Box is one way our church is reaching out to our community to provide support.
The Community Prayer Box was installed and dedicated on June 24, 2018. It's a locked box with a slot for prayer requests. Anyone with a prayer concern is welcome to use it. It can be an avenue through which someone who is not connected with a particular church can still request prayer. Even if someone has a church family already, extra prayers wouldn't hurt. The request can be anonymous. No names are required. There is also a place to write contact information if a call from the pastor is something that they'd like.
When a request is received, the Prayer Team is notified and prayers are said daily.

A Message from Our District Superintendent
Hello, Richmond First! I am your Pastor Sunhwa.
Do you know that our church is now part of the Greater Detroit District? As part of the
Michigan Annual Conference’s realignment, our Conference moved from seven districts to
four districts beginning July 1, 2026.
As a result, Richmond First is now part of the Greater Detroit District.
Our new District Superintendent is Rev. Dr. Darryl Totty. I want to share a reflection
he recently wrote about this transition and our ministry together.
In his reflection, Rev. Dr. Totty uses a memorable image from Tom and Jerry: ants working
together to carry food that would be too large for one ant to carry alone. He connects this
simple image to our life together as United Methodists.
He reminds us that we are not called to do ministry alone. We are connected, and each of us has gifts to share.
Even when change brings questions or
uncertainty, we can listen to one another, work together, and trust God.
I hope you will take a few minutes to read Rev. Dr. Totty’s full reflection. As we begin this
new chapter in the Greater Detroit District, let us remember that we are part of
something bigger than our own congregation. We are connected through our United
Methodist connection, and we can continue to serve God together.

THE BUSY HANDS NEED YOUR HELP EVEN MORE!
We need your ideas - it can be a picture of something you'd like us to make, or a kit you never finished or never opened.
We need lots of "stuff" to keep our hands BUSY on Wednesday mornings from 10-12 PM.
More than anything, we need YOU to spend some time with us as we work to help make the Bazaar a success. It is the primary fundraiser for the women and helps support the church's many activities.
Always good conversation, tea, and treats.
WEDNESDAY MORNINGS FROM 10- 12 PM WE ARE WORKING IN THE CHURCH BASEMENT ON PROJECTS TO SELL AT THE BAZAAR ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 14TH.

IN SEPTEMBER, WE EMBRACED OUR PURPOSE TO EXPAND CONCEPTS OF MISSION
AND INITIATED OUR ANNUAL SUPPORT FOR THE DRESS FOR SUCCESS.
OUR MONETARY DONATIONS SUPPORT THE PURCHASE OF UNIFORMS FOR CASS COMMUNITY SCHOOL CHILDREN.
WE HAVE BUDGETED AN AMOUNT, AND YOUR DONATIONS ADDED WILL BE
EMAILED DIRECTLY.
